All the heterosexual nonsense I was forced to endure during episode EIGHT of Fboy Island
Hello! Sorry, what’s that? You’re looking for someone? Her name is Rebecca, and she is beautiful ands recaps the TV show FBoy Island? But….…there hasn’t been a recapper of FBoy Island here…for…one hundred years!!!!
Just kidding, here I am! Why did I start this recap doing this weird bit, you may ask. Is she losing her mind, you may ask. The answer is yes, and also that we are reaching the end of the first season of FBoy Island, and I know we need to shake things up and keep you on your toes, make sure you don’t forget us! Anyway, both my co-recapper Patrick Lenton and I both thought this episode was the finale, but actually it is episode 8! I saw Patrick in real life last week at the premiere of the new Indiana Jones movie, and it was delightful, mainly because of my girlfriend watching Nathan “Whippy” Griggs.
Speaking of Nice Guys like Patrick, we are nearly at the end of FBoy Island! The women now know who are FBoys and who are the Nice Guys. You may think this would take some of the tension out of it because the women would just get rid of the FBoys, but you might want to think again! All three women are very forgiving of men who have lied about being FBoys, men who’ve lied about everything, men who clearly suck, men who are idiots, and men who are pieces of shit. It’s essentially a small microcosm of how society is. Black Mirror!!!
I am still enjoying the show!!! Now let’s get into the episode, and whom I found most and least annoying.
LEAST ANNOYING
Benny
Well this is a turnaround for the books isn’t it! The little english thumb, he’s won me over hasn’t he!
I generally hate the term Friendzoning (oh no a woman made you her friend!!!!) but in this case, on this reality dating show, I think it’s apt to say. Benny got Friendzoned harder than anyone in history. Sophie clearly loved his personality, and his humour, but wasn’t attracted to him. I see you Benny, and I’ve been there. In this episode each woman got to do a saucy photoshoot with the three men left vying for her love, in order to test ‘sexual chemistry’. Justin has done this sort of thing before, having been an OnlyFans, and watching Benny watch him was one of the best moments of the season.
Benny could clearly see the writing on the wall, his destiny to not make the top 2, and so he spent the rest of his time with Sophie….trying to take Justin down. I loved this. Again I connected with Benny as he implored this beautiful and nice woman not to go off with a clearly terrible man. Even though Justin turned out to be a “nice guy”, he is obviously terrible, and all the boys know, and I know, and Benny tried to make sure Sophie knew.
When Sophie didn’t listen to Benny, in a move she didn’t particularly like and took as a red flag, he confronted Justin. I am usually in agreement with Sophie that this is unnecessary and immature, but it was someone confronting Justin, so I’ll allow it.
He called Justin a bell-end, which I am pretty sure Justin didn’t know what it meant, and Justin retorted with this sort of thing.
It was satisfying to watch, even knowing what was probably to come (woman choose bad one not him).
Love you Benny! Innit
Nick
The main problem I have with Nick is the same one Molly does - is he a bit boring? Yes. He is. But I don’t care. He is hot and seems really genuinely sweet (this may be a lie for television), and while Benny and Justin were fighting, he stole Molly away to make out - smart smart big boy.
Not annoying, I love quiet nervous men :)
