We're thrilled to open up pitches for nonsense newsletter for our LGBTQIA+ Media Watch Project, the looking for feature-length articles about queer representation in the media.

LGBTQIA+ issues have become a common, lucrative and often sensationalised topic for media coverage in Australia. However this is almost always from cisgender/heterosexual perspectives, and often boosting uninformed voices and spreading misinformation.

Homophobia and transphobia are currently emboldened in Australia by politicians, biased and unethical media practices, and organised far-right campaigns from overseas.

In order to combat this, our publication will commission, edit and publish journalism and writing from LGBTQIA+ journalists, prioritising their voices, expertise, and lived experience.

We pay $400 AUD minimum for each article, and are looking for a range of different styles and tones - as long as it fits within the LGBTQIA+ Media Watch Project's remit.
