This is excellent writing, but I wish that this article didn't exist (please don't take this the wrong way!)

I didn't know I was trans when I was su*cidal, but I know all too well those feelings of pain, isolation and hopelessness that so many of us have experienced and continue to experience. Without family support I'm not sure that I would have made it. But even though starting hormones may have helped me at least, we still have to put up with a lot (more than we should have to, quite frankly). We deserve much, much better. We need to heal, but we can't while the state continues to kneel on our necks. It feels incredibly unjust, but we must continue to fight.

Another good article Natalie but so very sad and unjust that we must keep writing and reading such stories

This topic makes me inconsolable every time I learn more about the lives of these incredible people and how they were all let down. I feel your rage Natalie.
